Who is it for?
What is the aim of Solo Arts Scene?
We aim to cater
for people with an interest in the arts and who would like to attend such events
with friends who share a similar interest.
Is Solo Arts Scene just for single
people?
No. Everyone is
welcome to join. We know there are lots of people in relationships but whose
partners have different interests. Membership is intended for all, whether with
a partner or single. We are like the ramblers open to all with a similar
interest.
What sort of ages will fellow members
be?
The minimum age
to join is 21, but we hope to attract people from the 35+ age group.
I want to attend art events but also
want to meet new people and socialise. Is this possible?
Yes, there will
be plenty of opportunities for you to meet and chat with others.
Are you able to make personal
introductions?
No, Solo Arts
Scene is not a dating agency.
Why should I join?
What might a typical annual programme
include?
This will
vary and will take account of members views but typically you can expect: 8 -10
trips to the theatre, 2 or 3 trips to the ballet, 2 or 3 trips to the opera, 2
or 3 trips to classical music events and 4 trips to museums and art galleries. In addition, trips will also be arranged to restaurants and outdoor music
events.
How many people will be at each
event?
This will vary
depending on the event but for the theatre and similar excursions 10 will be the
minimum number and 20 will be the maximum. If more members wish to attend a
particular show or event, wherever possible, a second date will be arranged.
How many events can I attend?
There are no
limits on the number of events you can attend. Book early and attend all.
What does it cost?
What does membership cost?
There are two
types of membership available, so you can select which one suits you best:
The cost of
tickets to individual events will be charged separately.
What is the introductory event?
This
is a special launch event held in the beautiful surroundings and Palladian
mansion at Ston Easton Park. Join us for canapés and wine (or soft
drinks) in private accommodation at this wonderful 5* hotel, and meet your hosts
and fellow members. Only available to those who join early. If you
are unable to make this particular event but would still like to meet
hosts and members, another introductory event will be held in January 2009.
Will I have to pay a booking or admin
fee?
No booking fee
will be charged. A small admin fee will be charged as a contribution towards the
cost of arranging the event, booking tickets and providing a host at all events.
These will be kept to a minimum and generally will be around £2.50 - £5 per
event.
Is it better to book early?
Definitely. Book early to ensure your place at an event. Places at events will be
pre-booked, if an event is oversubscribed we will do our best to arrange a 2nd
date but this cannot be guaranteed. Bookings will be on a ‘first come basis’ but
a reserve list will be maintained.
